The pain relieving properties of peppermint oil are well documented as it imparts a cooling sensation upon application, effectively numbing pain. Not only does it reduce the physical discomfort of pain but it actively works to heal the wound itself, as it contains anti inflammatory compounds. This property makes peppermint oil useful for headaches and migraines as well as sore muscles and arthritic joints. Peppermint essential oil contains powerful disinfectant. When a few drops of peppermint oil are added to a toothbrush or mouthwash it cleans the mouth and leaves the breath refreshingly crisp.
Topical: Dilute 1 drop of Essential Oil to 4 drops of a carrier oil (Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Hemp seed Oil etc.) and apply to desired area(s) as needed. Test on a small area of skin before using.
Diffusing: An essential oil diffuser provides aromatherapy benefits as well as a great way to freshen up your home without overpowering the senses. Add 5-10 drops of essential oil per 100ml of water or add as desired.
